ANNOUNCEMENTS
DOHA 08 June 2024 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Doha joins the global community in celebrating World Oceans Day on 08 June 2024.
This year’s theme, “Awaken New Depths,” aims to motivate momentum for the ocean, with programs that will explore new depths of understanding, compassion, collaboration, and commitment across various topics, such as capacity-building, biodiversity, and indigenous and local community knowledge.
As a maritime and archipelagic country, the Philippines advocates for the responsible use of the world’s oceans and seas through the implementation of measures to curb the detrimental effects of climate change, overfishing, micro plastics, and unlawful artificial island-building and drilling in regional disputes.
