The current Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the State of Qatar is H.E. Mardomel Celo D. Melicor. He arrived Doha on 15 January 2025 and presented his credentials to the Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamin bin Hamad Al Thani two weeks later.

He is a career Filipino diplomat with 28 years experience in the Philippine foreign service. His previous postings were at the Philippine diplomatic and consular missions in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1999-2001), Berne, Switzerland (2001-2006), Berlin, Germany (2009-2015), Tripoli, Libya (2016-2019), and finally in  Warsaw, Poland (2019-2022) as Deputy Chief of Mission.

Before his assignment as the Philippine envoy to the State of Qatar, Ambassador Melicor was the Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila from January 2023 to December 2024.

Ambassador Melicor is married to Villaray Hope A. Noro-Melicor and they are blessed with one daughter.
