DOHA 02 April 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono received His Excellency Ali Salehabadi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar, at the Embassy’s new chancery on 27 March 2024.
The two officials exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, including the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between Manila and Tehran.

DOHA 01 April 2024 — This April, the Philippine Embassy in Doha, State of Qatar is one with our nation in celebrating the Filipino Food Month, “شهر الطعام الفلبيني”, or “Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino.”
Under the theme “Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago,” this year’s celebration focuses on empowering the youth to champion the promotion of Philippine culinary heritage and gastronomy.
Our month-long celebration will bring us to a journey where we will re-discover the richness of Philippine culinary delights.

DOHA 31 March 2024 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas co-organized an online briefing on Personal Equity and Retirement Account (PERA) on 22 March 2024.
Held via Zoom and streamed live on Facebook, the event was participated in by over 350 Filipinos from Qatar and other parts of the world.
It was the first such briefing to be held for overseas Filipinos in the Middle East.
In her welcome remarks, Her Excellency Ambassador Lillibeth V. Pono welcomed the conduct of the briefing on PERA.
“It is with great privilege and joy to be part of this pioneering activity,” she said. “I hope that this briefing will, in many ways, be helpful and informative for all of us who are serious about making sure that we will enjoy a secure life after retirement.”
Instituted by virtue of Republic Act No. 9505, otherwise known as the PERA Act of 2008, PERA is a voluntary investment retirement account for Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad. It is designed to assist individuals in saving up for their retirement through various investment options while enjoying tax incentives.

DOHA 23 March 2024 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar joins the global switch-off at 8:30 p.m. (Qatar time) for Earth Hour 2024.
As one of the countries facing the most severe risks of climate change, and as a committed State Party to the Paris Agreement, the Philippines continues to champion the cause of climate justice.
