PH Ambassador Administers Oath to New Officers, Board Directors of PH Civil Engineers Group
DOHA 30 January 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono administered the oath to the new set of officers and board directors of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Qatar Chapter on 26 January 2024.
In keeping with the event’s theme, Ambassador Pono spoke of the opportunities and challenges in digital transformation as it relates to the engineering profession.
“Embracing digital transformation is the way to go if doing so would redound to the ultimate benefit of humans and the planet, especially within the context of the volatile and unpredictable times we live in today,” she said.
Ambassador Pono also expressed optimism that with the humanist values and principles deeply ingrained in the Filipino engineer’s psyche, the path to a digital future looks hopeful.

PH Ambassador Meets with Non-resident Ambassador of Cambodia to Qatar
DOHA 28 January 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono met with His Excellency Sman Manan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia (non-resident) to the State of Qatar, on 27 January 2024.
The two officials discussed regional developments, ways to promote ASEAN interests in Qatar, and other matters of mutual interest.
Ambassador Manan presented his credentials as non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the State of Qatar to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar, on 28 January 2024.

PH Embassy, PH Muslim Federation-Qatar Discuss Community Issues
DOHA 26 January 2024 — Members of the Philippine Muslim Federation-Qatar met with Philippine Embassy officials, led by Her Excellency Ambassador Lillibeth V. Pono, on 25 January 2024.
Issues affecting Filipino Muslims in Qatar were raised, including the necessary steps to be taken to address the same.

PH Ambassador, UDST Dean Explore Possible Institutional Linkages in the Field of Marine Engineering
DOHA 26 January 2024 — Dr. Awni Al-Otoom, Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono on 23 January 2024.
