DOHA 26 February 2025 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, met with the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Sabaie, on 20 February 2025.
DOHA 25 February 2025 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, joined Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary for Foreign Employment and Welfare Services, Felicitas Q. Bay, and other Embassy officials in meeting with Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labor (MOL) of the State of Qatar, on 19 February 2025.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the two sides to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation in the field of labor, as well as in facilitating regular migration in accordance with existing labor agreements and the respective national priorities of the two countries.

DOHA 24 February 2025 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Saeed Al-Subaiey, Director of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the State of Qatar, on 17 February 2025.
The two officials exchanged views on strengthening the bilateral relations between the Philippines and Qatar, including ways to enhance cooperation on consular matters.

DOHA 23 February 2025 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Doha, in collaboration with the Association of Filipino Educators Qatar (AFEQ), organized “Larong Pinoy” to introduce traditional Filipino games to children.
Held on 21 February 2025 at the Embassy chancery, the cultural event saw second- and third-generation Filipino children interact with other children from different expatriate communities by playing heritage games, such as sungka, sipa, luksong tinik, and kadang-kadang.
The program included the inaugural viewing of “Barriolympics: Laro ▶️ Play,” a mini-series produced by the Department of Foreign Affairs that spotlights Filipino talent and creativity.
In his welcome remarks, Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, shared the Embassy’s commitment to supporting the State of Qatar’s campaign to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle. He added that the activity also sought to promote cultural awareness and understanding among youth.
As part of its cultural promotion mandate, the Embassy highlights the importance of connecting overseas Filipino children to their roots and strengthening their national identity, while also encouraging intercultural friendship.
