Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lillibeth V. Pono met with H.E. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, on 22 May 2023. The two officials exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, including ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of education.

Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lillibeth V. Pono personally extended her congratulations to the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) medalists Kristian Narca and Moises Ilogon during their visit to the Embassy on 23 May 2023.
The two Qatar-based Filipino athletes just got back to Doha following their successful stint in the regional biennial meet, where Narca earned the silver in the Men’s Kun Khmer 57 kg category, and Ilogon the bronze in the 60 kg category.

Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lillibeth V. Pono met with Professor Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara Cultural Village, on 21 May 2023.
The two officials explored ways to further strengthen cultural cooperation through various activities that deepen understanding and friendship between the peoples of the Philippines and Qatar.
Ambassador Pono also noted the many Philippine cultural activities held at the Katara Cultural Village in the years before the pandemic.
The two officials look forward to resuming similar activities with the participation of Philippine and Qatari art and cultural groups.

The Philippine Embassy in Doha joins the Filipino community in celebrating National Flag Day, an annual event held to commemorate the first unfurling of the Philippine Flag on Philippine soil during the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite on 28 May 1898.
