DOHA 27 April 2025 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar joins the nation in the month-long festival of Filipino gastronomy this April.

Filipino food is a celebration of colors and flavors traced from the rich tapestry of heritage, history, and identity woven through generations across the Philippines’ 7,641 islands.

Recognizing the crucial role of food culture in fostering new relationships and strengthening bonds between individuals and communities, the Embassy calls every Filipino in Qatar and around the globe to unite in preserving and championing our culinary treasures — because every bite of Filipino food is a taste of our national identity.

This year, the Embassy tapped selected restaurants to showcase the vibrant Filipino cuisine and transport diners to an epicurean journey to the Pearl of the Orient Seas - the Philippine archipelago.

First stop was at Lifestyle Avenue Restaurant located at Al Kinana Street, Al Sadd.

The Embassy team, headed by His Excellency Ambassador Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, invited media representatives, influencers, and non-Filipino guests who enjoyed mouth-watering dishes of Lifestyle Avenue. Highlighted during the visit were bulalo (a light colored soup which is made by cooking beef shanks and bone marrow); pancit bihon (a traditional stir-fried noodle dish in the Philippines); classic street food chicken barbecue; cajun seafood; and turon (a fried snack made of thinly sliced bananas wrapped in a spring roll paper).

With the aim to further introduce the unique Philippine flavors to Qatar’s residents, watch out where the Embassy team will pop up next!

The Embassy sends its appreciation and recognition to all Filipino restaurateurs and chefs in Qatar who continuously leave a mark in Qatar’s multicultural society.

Let’s encourage Filipino and non-Filipino friends to try out more Filipino restaurants in Qatar. Halika, kain tayo (Come, let’s eat together)!
