DOHA 23 October 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono joined other Heads of Missions of the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) in a meeting with the Minister of State for Interior Affairs His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Mohammed Al Thani on 20 October 2024.
The ACD affirmed the strength of the relations between ASEAN and the State of Qatar, and expressed optimism on the growth of said relations in various fields of cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State underscored the importance of Qatar’s relations with ASEAN, noting that it is home to a population of 670 million people and that Qatar’s trade with the regional bloc stands at USD 9 billion.
Comprising the ASEAN Committee in Doha are the Ambassadors/Heads of Missions of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

DOHA 21 October 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono met with Mr. Jaber Al Jaber, Director of the Department of University Degrees Equivalency, Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), on 21 October 2024. The officials discussed areas of cooperation in the field of education, including equivalency.
Director Al Jaber was accompanied by Assistant Director Mr. Abdulla Akuwari and Technical Affairs Specialist Mr. Abdulla Ali Khalfan Al-Moqbali.

DOHA 22 October 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono joined the personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar in welcoming newly arrived Philippine Labor Attaché Mr. Edward Ferrer and Migrant Workers Office-Qatar (MWO-Qatar) Administrative Officer Mr. Paul Cabugao in Doha.
Labor Attaché Ferrer will be the new head of MWO-Qatar.
Meanwhile, outgoing Acting Labor Attaché Don Albert Philippe Pangcog — who has been promoted to full Labor Attaché status — will be re-assigned to Thailand, to establish and lead the new Migrant Workers Office in Bangkok.

DOHA 21 October 2024 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Her Excellency Lillibeth V. Pono, lauded members of the Tanghalang Overseas Pinoy (TOPi) for their successful two-show musical event held at Awsaj Academy Auditorium on 18 October 2024.
Dubbed “Back to School Show,” the event catered to music lovers in Qatar as TOPi members took turns in singing both Broadway and Disney classics, as well as pop hits.
Ambassador Pono said the musical was a demonstration of Filipino talent and creativity.
“We thank TOPi for their contribution to the vibrancy of the cultural landscape here in Qatar,” she said. “We also thank our Qatari friends for providing the platform for Filipino artists to grow and thrive.”
