DOHA 4 September 2023 — Philippine Assistant Secretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Paul Raymund Cortes met with Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Assistant Undersecretary for Migrant Labor Affairs at the Ministry of Labor of the State of Qatar, on 03 September 2023.

The two officials discussed matters of mutual interest, including ways to enhance cooperation in the field of labor.

Assistant Secretary Cortes also met with officials of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Labor, led a consultation meeting with the Filipino community on labor-related matters, visited nationals in jails, and checked the situation of Filipinos staying at the Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center in Doha.

DOHA 31 August 2023 — Arabella Nadeen Taguinota, a 15-year-old Filipino student at King’s College Doha, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador H.E. Lillibeth V. Pono on 30 August 2023.

Taguinota bagged the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke (girls, 14-15 age group category) in the recently concluded 45th Southeast Asia Age Group Swimming Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia.

DOHA 27 August 2023 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar H.E. Lillibeth V. Pono was the Guest of Honor at the 10th General Assembly of the Filipino Planning Engineers Association (FPEA) on 25 August 2023.

In her remarks, Ambassador Pono underscored the necessity of capacity-building, benchmarking, and knowledge-sharing in a highly competitive and fast-changing world. She noted further that empowered professionals have the capacity to become agents of national transformation.
