DOHA 03 February 2024 — Philippine Embassy officials, led by Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono, took part in the first Gawad Ulirang Manggagawa Awards by advocacy group AKO OFW, Inc. on 26 January 2024.
In her remarks, Ambassador Pono acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Filipino household service workers (HSWs) in Qatar. She also underscored the importance of upholding migrant workers’ rights and promoting ethical recruitment.

01 February 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono attended the first technical seminar and induction of new officers and Board of Trustees of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. - Qatar Chapter (IECEP-Qatar) on 26 January 2024.
In her remarks, Ambassador Pono commended IECEP-Qatar’s technical seminar as an opportunity to strengthen Filipino civil engineers’ capacities, enhance their processes, and facilitate the achievement of organizational objectives.

DOHA 31 January 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono received His Excellency Rajeh Hussain Farhan Badi, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the State of Qatar, at the Philippine Embassy’s new chancery on 29 January 2024.
The two officials exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, including the latest developments in the region.

DOHA 30 January 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono administered the oath to the new set of officers and board directors of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Qatar Chapter on 26 January 2024.
In keeping with the event’s theme, Ambassador Pono spoke of the opportunities and challenges in digital transformation as it relates to the engineering profession.
“Embracing digital transformation is the way to go if doing so would redound to the ultimate benefit of humans and the planet, especially within the context of the volatile and unpredictable times we live in today,” she said.
Ambassador Pono also expressed optimism that with the humanist values and principles deeply ingrained in the Filipino engineer’s psyche, the path to a digital future looks hopeful.
