DOHA 22 October 2024 — Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar Lillibeth V. Pono joined the personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar in welcoming newly arrived Philippine Labor Attaché Mr. Edward Ferrer and Migrant Workers Office-Qatar (MWO-Qatar) Administrative Officer Mr. Paul Cabugao in Doha.
Labor Attaché Ferrer will be the new head of MWO-Qatar.
Meanwhile, outgoing Acting Labor Attaché Don Albert Philippe Pangcog — who has been promoted to full Labor Attaché status — will be re-assigned to Thailand, to establish and lead the new Migrant Workers Office in Bangkok.

DOHA 21 October 2024 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Her Excellency Lillibeth V. Pono, lauded members of the Tanghalang Overseas Pinoy (TOPi) for their successful two-show musical event held at Awsaj Academy Auditorium on 18 October 2024.
Dubbed “Back to School Show,” the event catered to music lovers in Qatar as TOPi members took turns in singing both Broadway and Disney classics, as well as pop hits.
Ambassador Pono said the musical was a demonstration of Filipino talent and creativity.
“We thank TOPi for their contribution to the vibrancy of the cultural landscape here in Qatar,” she said. “We also thank our Qatari friends for providing the platform for Filipino artists to grow and thrive.”

DOHA 20 October 2024 — Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Her Excellency Lillibeth V. Pono, graced the 11th founding anniversary of the Association of Filipino Educators - Qatar (AFE-Q) at the PSD EVB Gymnasium on 18 October 2024.
In her welcome remarks, Ambassador Pono lauded Filipino teachers in Qatar and the critical role they play in molding the critical thinking skills and humanistic values of their students, both Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike.

DOHA 16 October 2024 — The Philippine construction business mission wrapped up its inaugural participation in Big 5 Construct Qatar, the premier event in Qatar showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the Qatari construction and design markets, on 15 October 2024.
Doris U. Gacho, Executive Director of the Philippine Overseas and Domestic Construction Boards at the Department of Trade and Industry, said the three-day event provided a vehicle for Philippine firms to “study the Qatari market and connect with potential partners.”
In the Philippine networking reception held at the DECC on 13 October 2024, Her Excellency Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar said that the Philippines’ participation in the exhibition was not only a celebration of the bonds between the Philippines and Qatar, but also shone a spotlight on the remarkable talent and expertise of Filipino contractors and professionals.
“The presence of Philippine construction, architecture, engineering, and design service companies highlights the collective strength, innovation, and commitment of the Philippines to contribute to the ongoing development in Qatar,” she said. “Together, we aim to build stronger ties, share expertise, and collaborate on projects that benefit both our nations.”
