10 August 2015 - The Philippine Embassy in Doha, Qatar sighed today the Delivery Services Agreement between Qatar Postal Services Company and the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Doha at the Barzan Tower Doha, Qatar.
The Philippine embassy was represented by Ambassador C. Santos, while QPost was represented by the Acting Chairman of the Board and Managing Director Mr. Abdulla Slash Al Hajri.
The agreement offers the convenience of passport delivery by Qatar's national courier service at an affordable cost of QR 25. Due to the high cost of transportation in the absence of an efficient public transport system, this passport delivery service will make passport application more convenient for Filipinos in Qatar.
QPost Acting Chairman Mr. Abdulla Slash Al Hajri thanked the ambassador for the opportunity to handle the embassy's passport courier service as they expand their market reach to include the diplomatic community. He also gave his assurances that QPost will deliver on its commitments provided that the clients will provide complete and accurate information such as street address, zone number, and building number.
For his part, Ambassador Santos expressed his appreciation to the host government Qatar for its hospitality in hosting an estimated 190,000 Filipinos in the country who stand to benefit from the provision of passport delivery services in the country.
"This is a welcome development as it will provide a more efficient delivery of passport services and will make the process more convenient for Filipinos. At the same time, it will decongest the embassy and provide more working space for conducting other official business transactions," Ambassador Santos said.
As the 6th Philippine ambassador to Qatar, Ambassador Santos reiterated his commitment to the Filipinos in Qatar to further enhance the embassy's services to improve efficiency and increase customer satisfaction. END
