DOHA 18 May 2025 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar, in partnership with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), organized a town hall meeting entitled, “Usapang PhilHealth,” at the Embassy Chancery on 17 May 2025.

The town hall provided an overview of the expanded programs and services offered by PhilHealth following reforms made under Republic Act No. 11223, or the Universal Health Care Act, in 2019.

 

Dr. Edwin M. Oriña, Acting Regional Vice President of PhilHealth Regional Office IVA, discussed PhilHealth’s expanded primary care benefit package called Konsulta. He also outlined several benefit packages, including those for laboratory and diagnostic tests, drugs and medicines, outpatient and inpatient benefits, special benefits in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and Z Benefits for catastrophic illnesses.

Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, said the conduct of the town hall meeting aligns with the Embassy’s mission of bringing Philippine government services closer to Filipinos in Qatar.
