PH Embassy in Qatar Continues Overseas Voters Registration in Mesaimeer
DOHA, 04 September 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Doha mobile outreach team conducted overseas voting registration (OVR) services at the religious compound in Mesaimeer area in Qatar.
A total of 95 applicants registered for absentee voting during the outreach activity.
The monthly OVR services in Mesaimeer, in addition to the regular registration services at the Embassy available during regular office hours, is conducted every third Friday of the month in collaboration with local organizations.
According to Ambassador to Qatar Alan L. Timbayan, the outreach is part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to encourage all qualified Filipinos in Qatar to register or to re-activate their record as absentee voters and, at the same, time bring convenient and accessible services during the weekends and holidays to all Filipinos in Doha and surrounding areas.
The Embassy advises Filipinos who plan to avail themselves of services in future mobile OVR and consular outreach to be aware and observe local customs and regulations of the venue.
Registration for the 2019 Philippine senatorial elections will run until 30 September 2018 for all qualified absentee voters who will be voting in Doha in May 2019. Actual overseas election dates will be announced accordingly.
