07 February 2017 DOHA – Philippine Embassy Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. Roussel Reyes, Philippine Department of Transportation (DOTr) officials Undersecretary Garry de Guzman. Mr. Artemio Tuazon, Chief of Staff, Office of the Secretary, and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Martin Delgra III, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Minister of Transport and Communications of the State of Qatar, on January 23. Minister Al Sulaiti discussed the possibility of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of transportation and communications, citing that he has received reports of the impending establishment of a Filipino hospital in Qatar. The Minister added that he believed the exchange of inputs and experiences between Qatar and the Philippines would benefit both countries given the challenges that they have faced in this field. Mr. Tuazon replied that an enhanced cooperation between the Philippines and Qatar would be most welcome, especially now that the Philippine government under President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was embarking on the “Build! Build! Build!” program aimed to improve the Philippines’ infrastructure. Minister Al Sulaiti mentioned that he a bought a jeepney in Bulacan, Philippines and brought it to Qatar, as he admired the ingenuity of the Filipino.
