12 December 2016 – The ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) celebrated the ASEAN Night 2016 and the turnover of Chairmanship to Thailand at the Hilton Hotel, Doha on December 10.
Philippine Ambassador to Qatar Wilfredo C. Santos concluded his term as the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD) and turned over the Chairmanship to Thai Ambassador Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum.
Ambassador Santos thanked his fellow ASEAN Ambassadors for the support during his term as the ACD Chair. In his response, Thai Ambassador Chaiyindeepum accepted the Chairmanship and committed to improving ASEAN’s presence in Qatar and push forward with the other activities of the ACD.
The celebration of ASEAN Night was capped with handing out of awards to the winners of the ACD Golf Tournament, best performances from the Embassies of Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia, raffle draws, and karaoke-singing of the Ambassadors, spouses, and guests.
