DOHA 28 May 2025 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar kicked off the National Flag Days celebration by launching a micro exhibit on the Philippine national flag at the Embassy Chancery on 28 May 2025.

Entitled, “Kislap ng Watawat: Pagpupugay sa Simbolismo at Kasaysayan ng Pambansang Watawat,” the micro exhibit provides an overview of the history of the Philippine national flag, including the established protocols and regulations governing its display, folding, and retirement.

Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Mardomel Celo D. Melicor, said during the launch that the national flag “serves as the most potent symbol of our sovereignty, our values, and our aspirations.”

“The national flag represents the sacrifices of those who built this nation, the resilience of our ancestors through trials, and the enduring spirit of freedom and justice that defines us,” he said. “As custodians of this sacred symbol, it is our duty to understand and observe the proper way of handling it.”
