DOHA 15 December 2024 — The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar joined 104 volunteers from the ASEAN Committee in Doha and DeapQatar Conservation in a cleanup drive at the Singing Sand Dunes located southwest of Doha on 14 December 2024.
The volunteers managed to pick up a total of 504 kilograms of trash.
Philippine Ambassador to the State of Qatar, Her Excellency Lillibeth V. Pono, said the cleanup activity aligns with both the Philippines’ and Qatar’s objectives of reducing single use waste and establishing mechanisms to protect the environment.
“The Philippine Embassy is pleased to take part in this noteworthy endeavor,” she said. “I thank the Embassy of Brunei in Doha for taking the lead on this activity, and I look forward to further enhancing our cooperation with Qatar and other relevant stakeholders in promoting environmental sustainability.”
